It was easy to book, I had absolutely no problems with check-in because they knew exactly who I was and had my booking ready for me. The hotel was on the outskirts of Banff, however it was still walking distance to town.
Very basic, bed wasnt comfortable.
There were a lot of great services included or available such as a pool and hot tub, complimentary breakfast, a liquor store in the lobby and free covered parking. As well it was within walking distance (although a fairly long walk) of downtown Banff.
The only problems were that the room was quite dirty- orange peels under the bed and a weird stain on a towel. As well our balcony looked straight at a cement wall.
The price! Also having an outdoor pool were the two reasons we went there on short notice. Unfortunately the pics oversold the condition of the hotel. It was basically clean and the beds were comfortable.
For us it was ok but there were no elevators and to get to the 2nd floor and then down to the pool was inconvenient. The building is older and while the outdoor pool was warm and the water seemed clean it really needs to be renewed.
I stayed at this particular location several times in the last past 15 years. That was first time ever that i found this hotel refreshed, clean and tidy. Other times the linens and pillows were terribly stinky with "asthrey" like smell. This time again, everthing was so different that in moments i could not believed I was in Voyager Inn. Staff was polite and professional. Breakfast was perfect for the price included.
While checking out young lady surprised me with information that I will pay little bit less than $50.00 for my phone calls. I explained that I used long distance calling card. She said that regardless of what I'm saying I will have to pay. I told her phone calls were made to Calgary only and I mentioned again long distance card. I told her that in addition to this card I used their telephone just calling long distance 1-403-and so on. She didn't wanted to accommodate me for any discount, for surprise element of such high price, for my lost money for long distance card, for anything. In this situation in addition to retuning electronic "holed" keys I returned her my breakfast voucher/ticket for that day. It was 7:30 am.
staff was friendly, location was good, not so busy at this beginning of the banff ave, walking to the town is only about 10 min,the breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary, but ok.the services was good also,in all it was worth it for what we paid,i would recommend this hotel.
The staff treated us well and the breakfast was a nice addition. The price was good value for the quality of the facility.
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, as well as others in Banff. The staff answers requests in a timely, cheerful way. It is a bit dated, but an excellent place to stay. Free breakfast, clean room, balcony, what more do you need in the rockies!
There was a girl at the front desk who did not know what she was doing, I had to make sure I called back to talk to another staff member who secured my booking. You can't "what if" on a long weekend in Banff.
Good breakfact, helpful staff, heated pool and hot tub
looked as though it was due for a face lift and a lot of the electric sockets were badly worn so that plugs didn't always stay in!
location was good, inexpensive rooms, cleanliness of rooms, mountain view from restaurant.
no fan in bathroom, not enough parking stalls for guests, complimentary breakfast did not serve juice or any type of seasonal fruit
As a single mom I was looking for a cost effective place to take my 2 teen-aged girls. The complimentary breakfast was good, and it was not far to drive anywhere we wanted to go. We were only in our room in the evening to wind down from the day and to sleep. The staff was very friendly and we had good service. It is possible that we may stay there again.
The room was quite run down and in need of renos and a little more lighting, and could have been a little cleaner, but the beds were comfortable, there was a TV, complimentary breakfast, and warm water. Can't complain....it definitely served its purpose.
good basic rooms, little dated but served as a good stopover on long road trip.
included breakfast a little basic/bare - no juices, fruit (even from concentrate!)
older facility, but overall ok for its price
facility needs updating, paint peeling off the walls in the washroom and in the hallway
enjoyed the whirlpool. Easy access to downtown and to explore the mountain and lakes in the area.
Outdoor pool and no elevator. Breakfast was limited in options available
Some of the front desk clerks were very friendly.
The bed sheets were not changed even after the card was placed on the pillow. The spa water was not fresh, leading to skin problem.
